$525,000 mediation result, for this legal malpractice case against the plaintiff’s prior law firm, for not properly investigating an accident at a gas station, and naming the wrong parties in the underlying lawsuit, causing its dismissal. The defendants argued that the plaintiff provided incorrect information to their firm at intake, leading them to name the wrong gas station. In response, we demonstrated that the defendant failed to investigate the accident facts properly and opted not to meet with the client at the site. They instead opted to rely on Google Maps photos. We retained a legal malpractice expert who argued that the defendant failed to use the proper degree of care and diligence required. The plaintiff, who had a history of cervical issues, but had avoided surgery for many years, thereafter, required a complex cervical discectomy at the C5-C7 discus with fusion, and titanium plates.
