$19.5 million verdict, following a three-week trial, for a 35-year-old woman, who after undergoing a myomectomy to remove uterine fibroids, and then provided intravenous solution to replace blood and bodily fluids, developed hypovolemia (diminished blood volume) that was not timely treated and resulted in severe brain damage, requiring permanent care and an inability to work.
