$750,000 settlement for an accident that took place at a concert to support Hurricane Sandy relief, when an audio systems engineer lost his balance descending a staircase set up for support staff, when the stairs tipped, causing him to land in a pile of audio equipment. Our engineer summarized that the stairs were not adequately secure, or stable, and was required to have railings on both sides per OSHA. The plaintiff, age 48 suffered a tibial plateau fracture, requiring surgery to install a plate and screws to repair the knee.
