Car accident splits vehicle in two; drunk driver to blame

Sakkas Cahn & Weiss

When a car crash happens, it has the potential to seriously impact a victim’s finances, emotions and physical well-being. In addition to injuries, a car accident may also leave a victim with medical bills, lost wages from missed work, as well as other types of mental and emotional trauma. The aftermath of a serious accident may be overwhelming, but a New York victim does not have to face it alone.

A car accident recently occurred in Rockville Centre, Nassau County, that injured three individuals. The accident took place on a recent Friday in mid-October. According to the police, a speeding drunk driver crashed into another car, which resulted in the second vehicle being split in two.

Police say a 27-year-old man was driving when he crashed into the other vehicle, which caused his vehicle to overturn and the back of the second vehicle to be sheared off. He and his 25-year-old passenger were extricated from his vehicle, and both suffered injuries. The second vehicle’s driver suffered internal injuries. All three were rushed to a local hospital. The driver of the first vehicle was arrested for DWI, reckless driving, reckless endangerment and assault, as well as criminal mischief.

After being involved in a car accident, it is fairly typical for a victim to have pressing questions about what might happen next. When an experienced New York personal injury attorney is consulted, he or she will answer most of these nagging questions, while also helping the client to understand the options available. If legal representation is retained, the attorney will then examine every aspect of the accident so that the strongest case possible may be built, while also helping the victim navigate the sometimes-challenging adjustment to the physical harm and other losses he or she suffered in the accident.
